Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Program Director, Instructional Operations, has broad accountability, within the participatory governance framework, for college instructional operations. The Program Director, Instructional Operations, will manage the daily operations of the college instruction office specialist team, and will provide planning, training and oversight of all associated technologies.

Representative Duties


Provide leadership and administrative oversight to the college instructional office specialist team.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel.
Lead the selection of enrollment management software platforms and packages, lead implementation efforts, and direct the development of training and support for the software platforms.
Assist in the administration of college, district, and regulatory policy with respect to instructional operations (e.g., scheduling, curriculum, assessment, and 320 reporting). Provide leadership in generating staff development opportunities for support staff.
Coordinate assigned department planning and operations.
Review, assess and evaluate enrollment management programs and services; recommend and implement approved plans and policies to facilitate and improve outcomes, operations and programs within areas of responsibility.
Act as liaison with District, State, and federal governing bodies regarding assigned programs and practices.
Establish and maintain strong, cooperative, and effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partnerships.
Support the coordination of resources of the assigned areas to meet the evolving needs of the college and to accomplish departmental and campus-wide strategic initiatives.
Provide regular reports for enrollment management and student success purposes (i.e., data analysis).
Serve on College and District committees as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college/university and two (2) years reasonably related experience

    OR

  • A bachelor's degree and four (4) years reasonably related experience.

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.

    Knowledge and Abilities

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • State and Federal codes, statutes and regulations that govern California community college student developmental and instructional services (or their equivalents) including:
  • The mission of the California Community College; community college and instructional programs, regulations and policies; principles of employer - employee relations; and principles in the administration of personnel services.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Computer operations/data processing systems.
  • Accounting, budgeting and fiscal reporting.

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Work as part of a management team dedicated to collaboration and the college goal of integrating instruction and/or student services as a way to create and maintain a supportive student-learning environment.
  • Envision and effectively organize and supervise the day-to-day operation of assigned area. Develop, implement, and assess program goals and outcomes.
  • Exercise group leadership skills, which emphasize collaboration, consensus building, conflict resolution, and problem solving in an environment of shared governance

  • Establish and maintain cooperative and helping working relations with students, staff and community agencies to meet the needs of students.
  • Plan and organize work. Prioritize and schedule work; train and provide work directions to others.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports and procedural documentation.

  • Represent the college in a professional manner.

    SALARY RANGE$ 95,027.48 - $ 124,684.30 annuallyMaximum Entry Level Salary: $ 99,838.26 annually
