Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Germanna Community College is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer. The Senior Instructional Designer will provide pedagogical and educational technology support for the college's rapidly changing instructional environment. The position serves as a consultant to instructional divisions and individual faculty and staff regarding the integration of technology into curricula; the development and implementation of technology-enhanced instruction; the effective and efficient design of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses; new faculty development and training requirements; and methodologies associated with the application of various technologies to teaching and learning, particularly in online pedagogy and accessibility. This position also serves as an advocate for the use and integration of generative artificial intelligence in teaching and learning practices.

The position supports college-wide uses of instructional technologies and organizes and provides for college-wide faculty training and development. The Senior Instructional Designer is a college-wide position and reports directly to the Dean of Online Program and Learning Support.

*This position is located in Virginia. Must reside with a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.

Germanna Community College is seeking a full-time Courier. The Courier will be responsible for transporting items from one location to another, ensuring they are delivered on time and in good condition.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Delivers mail between campuses, makes bank deposits, delivers copier paper and office supplies and inventories office supplies.
  • Delivers interoffice mail between locations daily
  • Receives and distributes materials and supplies to proper departments and maintains proper inventory and organization of supplies
  • Transports equipment and supplies for departments
  • Assists with special events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KSA's/Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates commitment to promoting and enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Master's degree or higher in Instructional Design or related field
  • Five years of work experience in instructional design or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in using generative AI to integrate and support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of instructional design theories and applying them in a higher education context in a variety of teaching methodologies
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI Tools
