JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Teaching and Learning (TL) Technical Support provides technical guidance and assistance for the Learning Management System (LMS) and technology integration in teaching and learning. This position maintains the smooth operation of academic technology systems and promptly addresses any technical challenges. This position assists the TL Product Manager in administering, managing, and supporting critical systems such as Blackboard Ultra, ExamSoft, Poll Everywhere, and MyMedia, in addition to other academic technology systems aligned with the University's overarching mission of fostering teaching, learning, and research.


Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Identifies, evaluates, and collaborates with the Teaching and Learning Center staff and Information Technology Services to address complex interface and usage issues.
  2. Serves as the backup for the Teaching and Learning Product Manager.
  3. Provides direct support through the Teaching and Learning help desk, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  4. Addresses trouble tickets, phone calls, and emails promptly; provides progress of requests.
  5. Provides comprehensive support for desktop business productivity applications to both students and staff across the entire campus.
  6. Creates and updates user manuals and training materials tailored for campus-wide use.
  7. Provides expertise in deploying Lean 6 Sigma programs and initiatives and directs teams to achieve desired results using Lean 6 Sigma methodologies.
  8. Utilizes operational expertise to research and evaluate various solutions to enhance customer product quality and efficiency.
  9. Conducts periodic project reviews to ensure that the execution of the project complies with the Lean 6 Sigma standards.
  10. Serves as the digital transformation document administrator, managing changes to the SharePoint site, including configuration, user group/permissions management, and document imports.
  11. Provides high-quality customer service to faculty, students, and staff across the Learning Management System (LMS) suite of tools.
  12. Supports the analysis, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of key projects to help UT Health Science Center achieve goals.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience leveraging computer technology to address complex user and business problems and needs; OR a combination of education and experience to equal six (6) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, using sound judgment, caution, discretion, and integrity.
  • Goal-oriented, detail-driven, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to adapt to change, such as new ideas and technologies.
  • Ability to brainstorm collaboratively for optimal solutions is necessary.
  • Ability to effectively implement and apply technology to teaching and learning practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to accurately define problems and offer effective resolutions.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends.
